Magnus Rentzhog, a Senior Advisor at the Swedish National Board of Trade, kicked off the event with a presentation on how technology is fundamentally reshaping global value chains, and the areas in which trade laws can be adapted to address these changes.

Ted Moran, Professor at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, then discussed global supply chains; their significance for trade and investment flows; and how policymakers can address their changing nature.

Jose Guilherme Reis, Practice Manager for Trade & Competitiveness at The World Bank, spoke about the future of manufacturing, what it means for trade and its role in development.
