3/28/19 Discussion with Senator Pat Toomey & Panel on Section 232- Part 5
On Thursday March 28th, 2019, WITA hosted a discussion with Senator Pat Toomey of the Senate Finance Committee. Senator Toomey discussed his new legislation, the Bicameral Congressional Trade Authority Act (S. 287) with former Representative Charles Boustany. Senator Toomey’s new legislation aims to restore the trade powers that Congress first ceded to the President in the Trade Expansion Act of 1962. This discussion was followed by a panel on the Section 232 tariffs and the congressional role in regulating foreign trade.
