YTP Discussion: Tax and Trade

Is the Border Adjustment Tax (the “BAT”) at death’s door? As initially intended, the BAT would give tax breaks to American companies that ship products to other countries, and conversely, strip away tax breaks from American companies that import goods. Heated debate has resulted since the BAT was first introduced as a component of the GOP-sponsored tax reform. However, legislative interest seemed to wax and wane.
