Thank You for Your Support!
Thanks to all of you, WITA continues to see extraordinary growth. Today, we have over 6,000 members (an increase of nearly 20% since 2023!), and viewers of our webinars in 2024 came from 88 different countries. During 2024, WITA hosted 37 events featuring 76 panels with 297 speakers and nearly 5,000 attendees at our online and in-person events (also up more than 20% since 2023).
This past year, we also hosted our first WITA International Trade Reception at the 2024 WTO Public Forum in Geneva, Switzerland; along with a panel of expert speakers at the Public Forum.
2024 also saw the rapid expansion of the WITA Academy, which is the most significant and impactful initiative in WITA’s history. This year, over 450 students from 66 colleges and universities participated in programs to learn about trade policy and opportunities for careers in international trade, including as part of our Trade & Law Series which launched this year. We also introduced new capacity building initiatives on Tariffs, the World Trade Organization, and US-China Trade.
With the support of the WITA membership and our WITA Academy sponsors, the Cristena Bach Yeutter Charitable Trust, Microsoft, the American Apparel & Footwear Association, Coupang and Mayer Brown, we hope to bring the work of the WITA Academy to an even wider audience in 2025.
We hope you’ll join us in kicking off a new year of trade policy at our seventh annual Washington International Trade Conference on February 10 & February 11, 2025. We’ll be joined there by an all-star lineup of speakers discussing the direction of trade in the year to come. The entire event will stream online, with in-person discussions available for members and guests in Washington, DC.
If you think WITA’s trade education mission is important, then we hope you will keep WITA, the WITA Academy and the Washington International Trade Foundation (WITF) in your plans as you consider groups to support in 2025. You can find out more about how to support WITA and the WITA Academy here or by emailing Diego Anez at danez@wita.org.
As we plan our 2025 agenda, we’d love to hear from you about what is important to you in your work, and what you’d like WITA to focus on in the coming year.
