South Africa joins Uganda and Kenya, ratifies the Tripartite Free Trade Area

South Africa has ratified the Tripartite Free Trade Agreement becoming the Fourth member state to do so after Egypt, Uganda and Kenya. This was according to a notification sent early this week, by the South African Government to the Chair of the Tripartite Task Force, Chileshe Kapwepwe, who is the Secretary General of COMESA. “This is excellent news,” said the Secretary-General. “This development moves the tripartite process to near operationalization.” [Read More Here]
