WSJ: U.K.’s Trade Surplus With U.S. Widens

LONDON—The U.K.’s goods trade surplus with the U.S. widened in the final three months of 2016, data showed Friday, another sign of the challenge faced by President Donald Trump’s administration in narrowing the country’s trade gap with the rest of the world.

British exports to the U.S. exceeded imports by £3.4 billion ($4.25 billion) in the fourth quarter, the U.K. Office for National Statistics said Friday, as the U.S. sucked in more British-made food, chemicals and machinery and U.S. imports to the U.K. declined.
